The holidays are a time for giving. With so many new and exciting tech toys on the market, the Internet of Things (IoT) brings holiday shopping to new and unexpected heights. From flying drones to smartphones, connected toys offer a fun and unique way to show your loved ones some appreciation. However, it’s important for consumers to understand that these devices are just as appealing to cybercriminals because of their access to our personal information.
For their 2017 holiday campaign, McAfee wanted to raise awareness about the importance of proper security for smart devices, and increase user acquisition to their mobile security product. We developed an influencer campaign partnering with Ava Ryan to explain some of the cyber threats lurking under the Christmas tree. The campaign created substantial growth in engagement across McAfee’s consumer Twitter and Facebook channels. It also drew over 43k unique users to the landing page & 45k entries to the sweepstake associated with the campaign.
